I’m Moving … Sorry For Any Unexpected Outages

Hey everyone I just wanted to let you know I’ve been in the process of moving my website to a new host and unfortunately I messed up a few things the other day and as a result you may have encountered a few broken links in the course. I apologize for any frustration. I’m pretty sure they’re all fixed now so things should be good to go.

Just an additional heads up … I’m expanding the course website significantly so you can expect some big things in about a month on the course site (including some very cool ways for you to make money simply by telling people about this free course 🙂 ).

Also, this blog is going to move sometime near the end of next week. There are a number of reason for the move

  1. I want to consolidate the page rank building efforts by placing my blog under the same domain as my website (
  2. I’m switching to WordPress as my blog engine. There are many reasons for doing this, not the least of which is the flexibility of hosting it on my own website and having access to modify the internals
  3. WordPress also has the ability to use track-backs in my blog posts. If you have no idea what this means no worries, the next lesson I’m about to ship is on blogging and will cover it

As I just said, the next lesson (lesson 8) on blogging is near completion. It will cover a lot of material specific to blogging for marketing so keep your eyes open for it as it’s almost ready to go out the door.

Oh, one last thing, if you subscribed to the RSS feed for this blog you shouldn’t have to worry when the blog moves. Since the RSS feed was burned by feedburner the feed will move with the blog so your rss reader should continue to pick up the blog as normal.

Social Bookmarking with RSS Bookmarker

I hate bookmarking my content all day long, but it’s got to be done. Problem is with all the different bookmarking sites I find I’m often spending more time bookmarking than actually developing content. That’s why RSS Bookmarker rocks!

RSS Bookmarker is a fantastic hands off way to slowly, and naturally, drip your content to the social bookmarking sites.

Presto! Automated back links!
The basic premise is that you set up projects that include the RSS feed you want to continually have bookmarked as well as a list of the bookmark sites you want the rss posts to bookmarked.
RSS Bookmarker then gradually submits the posts to the social bookmarking sites.

Now here’s one of the cool parts …
RSS Bookmarker also comes with RSS Feed Generator a very nice tool that automatically takes your regular website and makes an rss feed out of it. This feed can be sent anywhere any rss feed can be used, including RSS Bookmarker.

So what you have is a set of tools that will automatically keep your blog and your website bookmarked in a naturally looking way. All you have to do is produce content.

RSS Bookmarker runs on a server and supports as many projects and configurations as want so it’s easy to set up for the use of as many websites and blogs as you can scrap together among your friends 😉

I’ve just started using it after learning about it through Traffic Kahuna and it’s saving me hours a week in time … time I can use to for more worthy efforts.

How To Get A Deal On Your Wealthy Affiliate Membership

How do you get a deal on the best affiliate marketing education money can buy?

If you’ve been hanging around the affiliate marketing scene for any length of time you’ve probably already heard of the Wealthy Affiliate University. Lets face it, they’re an affiliate marketing power house! I’ve been a member of Wealthy Affiliates for a long time now and the price has always been $29 per month, but all that is about to change.

It was just announced that the membership fees will be going up on May 6th. While it has not been disclosed what the new membership fees will be, considering other sites charge double and triple and yet offer less than half of what you’ll find at Wealthy Affiliates, you can bet it’s not going to be a measly $5 price hike.
Most members (over 10,000 of them) have been expecting a price hike for some time since it has always seemed way undervalued and now the hammer is finally about to drop … unless you’re already a member!

If you’ve been on the fence for a while trying to decide if it’s worth it then you really need to consider it carefully right now because for the next 10 days you can get in on a real deal of a price for the membership of only $29/month.

Lock In Your Membership Fee For Life

One thing that has been assured by Kyle and Carson is that the price a member joins at will always be the price they pay. Price hikes will never affect existing members. (that’s why the price hike doesn’t bother me:) )

So if you’re struggling to make it in affiliate marketing don’t miss this opportunity because after May 6th it’s going to cost you much more to learn from the pros found at this awesome site.

My suggestion is to jump on this Wealthy Affiliate membership right now before it’s too late. Try it out for a month and if it doesn’t exceed your expectations then it only cost you $29 to find out what all the noise is about. If on the other hand you realize, as everyone else there already has, that you finally found the goose that lays the golden egg then you’ll be patting yourself on the back for making a wise choice and locking in your membership at todays rates for life!

How Does Traffic Kahuna Work?

I don’t brag up many products, but Traffic Kahuna simply Rocks! The newly released Traffic Kahuna is what other traffic networks wish they were. With Traffic Kahuna you get more quality back links and highly targeted traffic than you’re going to find with any other solution I know of.

How does it work?
Before I answer that let me answer another question you probably have right now …

If it’s newly released then how do I know it’s so good?
Traffic Kahuna is “newly released” to the public, but a few months back it was release to a small group (100) of people as a sort of beta test. It was a way to work out the kinks in the system and to ensure it really did deliver as promised.

The results were nothing short of incredible! Now with a track record of success to back it up it’s finally being released to the general public. You can read about the results of this at the Traffic Kahuna site.

You might already be familiar with the Kahuna team from my earlier post on the free Comment Kahuna tool. I should tell you, since that post I have seen some major upgrades (including squidoo support) to Comment Kahuna that has made it THE tool of choice for finding blogs to comment on. If you use the tool you already know the quality of work from the Kahuna team.

So, again, how does it work?
Traffic Kahuna goes way above and beyond with a network of hundreds of websites and blogs that are begging for your content and ready and willing to provide back links for your site or blog.

Your job is to simply submit an article or smaller snip of content to the network with your back links in place and the Traffic Kahuna people take care of the rest. Each submission is personally reviewed and syndicated out to websites or blogs that are relevant to the content you submitted.

What you get from Traffic Kahuna this is

  1. content submitted to hundreds of relevant blogs and websites (this would takes untold hours to do manually)
  2. targeted traffic back to your site
  3. very quickly increase search engine rankings
  4. improved page rank(google PR)

Why is Traffic Kahuna different from other traffic networks
This is a huge question that MUST be answered. The big difference is that the Traffic Kahuna team has done something the others have failed to do. They done everything on the legit up and up from seo / google perspective.

  1. NO Black Hat / No Grey Hat techniques
  2. All blogs and websites in network are from real individual owners
  3. Blogs ans websites are spread across the web and NOT on a single IP (because they are real from real individual owners)
  4. The only techniques used are real PURE WHITE HAT techniques that will not get your business in trouble with Google or anyone.

Should You Use it?
Yes and No. (don’t you love answers like that 😉 )

Here’s the deal. Unlike Comment Kahuna which is free, Traffic Kahuna is not. So the way to answer the question of whether you should use it or not is to look at it like this …

If you have a blog or website that is monetized and is making even a little bit of money each month then you will probably benefit greatly from this tool. If your traffic were to triple, quadruple or more then you normally expect your sales to do the same.

In most cases the issue is clear cut, the increased traffic and therefore increased sales m ore than covers the cost of the service.

Now even if you don’t have sales and are just starting out, I’d suggest it as a great way to start on the fast track. It really will save you enormous amounts of time and effort while building a traffic following.

But What About The Bonus?
If you read the Traffic Kahuna site you’ll have noticed some bonus material and a landing page on their web 2.0 website. With out going too much into it, basically they’ve build a site with a decent page rank and they’re going to give you a personal page on the site so you can use it as a personal PR boosting page for your other content. In reality it goes way beyond that but I’d rather leave it for the Traffic Kahuna team to tell you about it.

What If It Doesn’t Work For Me?
Good question! Well the beauty is that if it works, which I know it does, you’ll see the traffic improve often in a matter of a few days, and certainly well with in a month time. And fortunately the Traffic Kahuna team is so confident in their offering that they’re guaranteeing a full refund to anyone for up to 30 days. This is more than enough time for you to see the power risk free.

Why is this guarantee especially meaningful?
Think about it, with most digital products or services the company offering the product or service isn’t really out anything when they offer a guarantee. Sure they lose a bit of money
since they have to refund the purchase, but that’s all.

With a service like Traffic Kahuna where each content submission is reviewed and placed by an actual person they can’t afford to be giving 30 day money back guarantees unless they have huge confidence in their product.

What’s The Hurry?
Here’s the problem. When they opened this up to 100 beta testers some time ago it filled the 100 spots very quickly.

Even though they’ve opened it up to the rest of us they still have a cap on the number of members they are letting in. Believe me, this isn’t some marketing ploy, the truth is the network of websites and blogs isn’t limitless and can only handle so many new members at a time. When the network grows enough I suspect they will open the doors again but I have no idea when that will be so be sure to check it now before it’s too late.

OOPS, I Screwed Up the Wealthy Affiliate Deal

Hey Everyone, I want to apologize for a mistake I made in my previous post regarding the awesome Inside The List deal Wealthy Affiliate University was doing the other day.

I said that there was a refund for the Wealthy Affiliates if you cancel in the first 30 days. Turns out I was wrong. I haven’t come across this issue before because in the 4 months since I’ve been promoting Wealthy Affiliates I haven’t had anyone I’ve referred actually cancel. Never the less, I received an email the other day from the Wealthy Affiliates kindly correcting me on my message.

So because I screwed up I want to make sure everyone knows I’ll stand by my mistake and cover any cancellations myself.

Therefore, if anyone who signed up for the Wealthy Affiliates from that post and decides to cancel their membership in the first 30 days I will honor the refund myself. All you need to do is send me your paypal receipt and I’ll take care of it.

And for those of you who did sign up, congratulations, you’re on your way! Drop me a pm at tariss.

New Members now Get A Free Copy of Inside The List

Right now the Wealthy Affiliate University is giving away a FREE copy of Inside The List, the definitive list building guide that sells for $69.95. This is no wimpy eBook. We’re talking over 100 pages of the best list building techniques on the market.

If you’ve been following me or have been taking part in my free course for a while now you know I don’t send out much as far as promotional offers go, but this one is well worth telling you guys about so I hope you’ll read it through carefully.

You’ve probably heard me go on about the Wealthy Affiliate University and how it’s without doubt the place to learn affiliate marketing and in fact it’s where I learned most of what I know about affiliate marketing.

Well, Kyle and Carson, the two guys who started the Wealthy Affiliate University, sent me an email this morning telling me that for everyone who joins now receives a FREE copy of Inside The List which is recognized as one of the top list building books out there. In fact it currently sells for $69.95! But you get it for FREE as a new member of Wealthy Affiliates. (unfortunately this is only available to those who joined after April 1st, Noon EST.)

In some ways this bonus offer of Inside The List couldn’t be timed better for my course. With the coming lesson on List Building (opt-in lists), Inside the List is a prefect compliment that will go far beyond what my free course lesson will be able to teach.

Not only will the content of Inside The List compliment my lesson on list building, but the price compliments my lesson very well too! They’re both FREE! 🙂
You probably already know you need a list if you’re going to make really big money and I’m confident that once you get my lesson on list building you’ll understand how important this is and will be glad you jumped on this offer while it’s available.

Inside The List will show you how to build a relationship with your list that will be profitable for years to come. It’s the start of a truly long term business in online marketing. Whey else do all the top marketers have one?

I know I’ve talked about how great the forums are at the Wealthy Affiliates and I recall mentioning there were a few thousand members … well I was wrong.
The other day I was going through the forum and noticed there was actually over 11,000 members!

Now there’s only one way to build a membership like that and that’s to be the best! You simply can’t build that kind of membership with a high turn over.

Do you know why people don’t leave the Wealthy Affiliate University?

Because they soon realize that it more than pays for itself. In fact, what good would it be if it didn’t? If you’re still thinking of it as an expense then you really don’t have any idea what you’re missing because if you did you’d know it’s not an expense but an asset.

Unlike many people who come to Wealthy Affiliates with stories about how they floundered around before finding their way here, I was lucky enough to stumble onto the Wealthy Affiliates early in my affiliate career. I’m certain this was one of the biggest reasons for my quick success. I didn’t need to reinvent the wheel. And when I got stuck, there was always help available.

So secure you copy of Inside the List by giving the Wealthy Affiliate University a try ASAP.

Hope to see you on the Inside.

Affiliate Marketing Course Campaign Update

Hey everyone I just wanted give everyone an update on the affiliate marketing campaign that is part of the long tail treasure free affiliate marketing course.

I’ve been so busy with the development of the lessons as well as managing my own campaigns that I’ve not been keeping you guys all up to date as well as I should have.

Currently there are 14 sales for a total of $1369.96. There was actually 16 but there’s been a couple refunds. Also, of the 14, two were from europe that were billed at $100 a piece.

The other day I was asked by a member how I was able to pull in 14 sales and I think it’s a very good question that I wanted to cover in this post. When I stopped to think about it, it was like a kick in the pants because I realized there was something really important going on here that should be discussed.

First, have a look at the stats for the campaign lens here at
just enter “KeywordEliteScam” in the text box (without the quotes).
You can only see about a week of the stats on squidaholic, but from the dashboard I can tell you there has been about about 1000 visits since the lens was created. It averages about 16 per day.

This is not much traffic at all, but then again the promotion has just begun for the lens. The traffic has now begun to rise significantly and I’m expecting more sales soon.

The lens was not promoted with any articles or 2nd Tier PPC until a couple days ago. Prior to this the only thing going for it was it’s squidoo ranking as well as submitting it to various sites like Digg, stumbleupon, propeller etc.

A couple days ago I began a $2/day 2nd Tier Pay Per Click campaign following the techniques I describe in the 7th lesson of the course. A brief idea of the concept can be found in the earlier post titled “When Does A Second Tier PPC Search Engine Make Sense”?

So the question about how I managed to sell 14 already is an interesting one because I think there is a bias in the experiment.

It’s hard to tell the world in a free course exactly what you’re doing for your campaign and expect to be competitive in the marketing space for the product in question. I believe I mentioned somewhere back in the course when the campaign was announced that I believed it wouldn’t do well because of this.

Well it turns out I was probably right and at the same time wrong. Don’t you just love a straight answer 😉

I believe that people knowing my strategy and using that against me is happening as I expected. I don’t hold this against anyone because I fully expected it. In fact I’m not even sure I mind because the point of the exercise is to demonstrate the techniques so people can see an actual campaign for learning purposes. If by being open enough so people can learn from it means the campaign itself may suffer then so be it. The point was to teach after all. On top of that, I’m not sure how to measure the effect so it’s not really worth discussing.

So having said that, it turns out there are a little more sales than I would have expected given the lack of promotion, which is just beginning now. So after thinking about it for a bit I suspect that half of the sales are probably coming from members of this course. There are a lot of members and many of them have visited the lens.

Based on feedback I’ve been getting about the free course (thanks everyone), many members have told me how they appreciate the information I’m sharing without subjecting them to a barrage of marketing pitches. Also, I believe members who have been in the course for a while now know that I’m not going to market a product I don’t believe in.

I believe this is the reason sales are up. I believe the course has actually pushed sales higher than if the course didn’t exist. My guess is half are sales to course members. I’m not surprised this might happen. And I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy. I wanted to say however that it wasn’t the primary objective. In fact, if the most sales was more important than teaching, I certainly wouldn’t have been telling everyone about the details of my marketing campaign.
Unfortunately I don’t know an other way to do a live campaign without this happening. In hind sight I understand now why there are few live campaigns being used as teaching methods. It’s difficult for the course not to influence the campaign.

I believe when the course is complete I’ll come back and add an additional campaign after the campaign has finished. A campaign that stands on it’s own without the course influence issue.

for now, I hope everyone will continue to follow the course campaign as it is mostly intended to teach how the hook all the pieces of a successful campaign together … which it will do regardless of the course influence.

BTW, this course influence will actually be discussed in detail in the lesson that deals with mailing lists so be sure to check it out.

Social Marketing With Twitter Feed

There’s been a lot of debate this past year about the value of social marketing. The issue isn’t about whether or not building relationships on social sites is valuable, but rather if it’s valuable enough to justify the time it takes to cultivate these relationships. With the right productivity tools, like and, I think the answer is unequivocally yes!

I just hooked up my blog feed to my account and now I don’t have to waste additional time announcing my new blog posts to my twitter community because does it for me.

If you don’t know what twitter is then here’s a short description. Twitter is a micro blog that allows you to announce what you’re doing at any given moment to all those who care to know (your followers). It’s a simple way to “follow” what your friends are doing.

It might sound kind of silly at first, but trust me, it’s actually quite of addicting. The idea is that as I’m working I can type short one-liners every now and then about what I’m doing, or what I’m surfing or whatever I want to share. The messages are always short because there’s actually a limit to the length of the message it will accept. This can be understood if you consider that one of the popular uses, and original motivations, of Twitter is to send text messages from your phone so your friends can follow you through out the day.

Now if you’re a blogger one of the things you’re going to want to do is announce to your followers any new blog posts you make. Your followers are like subscribers and will receive the notification in their twitter feed.

With the service you can have your new blog posts announcements automatically sent to your twitter followers saving you the hassle of doing it manually. This is an example of how you can contribute to a social network without having to do anything over an above the blogging you’re already doing. It’s simply extra leverage 🙂

You can see how twitter works by checking out my twitter feed here.

But to really understand twitter you simply need to try if for a few days. It’s quick an easy to set up. And once you get the feel for it you can hop over to and automate your blog announcements to your new found friends.

Twitter and TwitterFeed are great tools for the busy affiliate marketer. If you want to learn affiliate marketing a great place to start is The Long Tail Treasure
, my free affiliate marketing course where you can learn more about the techniques I use every day to make a living online.

The Squidoo Lens Of The Day Traffic Effect

So what’s the next best thing to having an effective mailing list? How about getting mentioned on someone else’s much BIGGER list, like the Squidoo Lens Of The Day list!

Although my Free $7,000 in 60 Days affiliate marketing course has generated quite a lot of traffic since it’s inception only a couple months ago, nothing has given the traffic a kick in the pants quite like making the Squidoo Lens of the Day.

Megan Casey, the Editor in Chief of, chooses a lens each day among the millions of lenses to be featured as the lens of the day. This feature then appears on Squidoo, the Lens of the Day blog and is sent out to the Lens of the Day mail list. This is quite an honor to say the least and I’m quite proud to have made here esteemed list, even if I have to share 😉

On march 6th I was listed as one of the 5 lenses she liked among tens of thousands of possible lenses related to making money
So these lenses are here to stand up for the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of being a skillful web-based marketer, a smart promoter, a hard worker who (probably) works from home and enjoys helping others find worthwhile products and services. Unsurprisingly, there are tens of thousands of GREAT lenses on Squidoo about affiliate marketing, about making money, about sales tips and tricks. It’s hard to pick just a few, but here are a handful that I’ve stumbled across recently and enjoyed.

– Megan Casey, Editor in Chief,

Since receiving this vote from Megan (I’m going to call it a ringing endorsement 😉 ) , the traffic to my lens has gone through the roof! I was getting quite a lot of traffic to the lens before and have always been ranked in the top few lenses in the SEO and Affiliate Marketing section of Squidoo, but this lens of the day mention has more than tripled my traffic and more than quadrupled the signup rate for the free e-course.

A couple observations worth noting

  1. probably 2/3 of the new traffic is coming from the mailing list for lens of the day and not directly from the squidoo site. I imagine the mailing list for squidoo lens of the day is quite large, though not very targeted to a niche.
  2. The the actual conversion rate for signup to the e-course has increased. This is a great demonstration of the power of authority. A referral from someone of perceived authority does more than just drive traffic, it drives traffic that’s ready to convert … or in my case sign up for the free e-course.

Not only does the lens of the day get profiled on but also on the lens of the day blog. Both of these feature spots are certainly driving traffic to my lens, but it’s the email traffic that is really blowing me away.

The moral of the story is that if you can get mentioned on someone else’s large list it can do wonders for your own marketing efforts. All the more reasons to start building relationships and get involved in you favorite web 2.0 community. Just remember to create content people care about and the word will spread.

If you haven’t already done so then what are you waiting for? It’s easy to build your own Squidoo lens.
