Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind Bootcamp
By Todd | July 18, 2009
A couple days ago I returned from Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind Bootcamp which was held on July 11 & 12 in Los Angeles. The experience was nothing short of spectacular.
The idea of the bootcamp was to provide a whirlwind tour / overview of the Guru Mastermind program over the period of two days. I was thrilled to find that it wasn’t a big pitch fest but rather two solid days of rock solid, usable material that I’ve already begun to implement in my business.
When I say two solid days I mean solid! We started 8:30 am and didn’t finish until 8:30 pm (9:30 pm on the second night). With only a 1 hour break for a late lunch as well as 15 minute breaks every 90 minutes, it was a very long day but well worth every minute.
We covered everything from why it’s important to think like a marketer and not an expert. How to create self contained concepts for your information products along with frameworks for teaching and conveying information that will appeal to the 4 basic learning styles.
We went into depth on wordsmithing, the art of using the right word for the right effect. We covered traffic and advertising as well.
I also learned a very cool technique from one of his guest speakers, Opher Brayer, who taught us how to create a high quality ebook or information product in a very short period of time … like a week! The method he describes would make it easy for anyone to do and, dare I say, actually enjoyable. Not to mention easy to outsource!
Describing the method would be far more than what could be done in a blog post, but I will try and find some resources to his material as I do believe he teaches his method. Here is Opher’s twitter account (thanks sheyne) http://twitter.com/opherbrayer.
I think one of the most valuable parts of the Guru Butcamp was the networking opportunities. I spent 2 12 hours days in a room with 400 like minded people all building their information marketing business. The attendees were at various stages of their business development from complete beginner to those making a million dollars a year. Needless to say the connections I made were invaluable.
My decision to join the Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind program is already turning out to be one of the most valuable decisions of my life.

Lastly, although we were restricted from filming or taking pictures we did manage to get a couple that at the end of the even so without further delay …

Hi Todd and everyone else at Long Tail Treasure. I am the buddy in the picture and can back up everything that Todd said. The Guru Bootcamp was a great experience. It was filled with so much information, that I ended up with over 20 pages of notes and my mind has constantly been thinking about my online business since the seminar.
I too was inspired by the presentation on how to create your own ebook and how to come up with ideas and content in a short period of time. I was so inspired that I tracked down the presentors name. It is Opher Brayer and here is the link to his Twitter account http://twitter.com/opherbrayer
To any of you thinking of signing up for The Guru Bootcamp or any of Ebern Pagan’s other courses or products, I would say go for it. You will learn more then you ever have from any other course and the impact it will have on your online business, not to mention other areas of your life will shock you. I have no regrets and know that by applyng what I have learned I will easily make that amount and more back.
Anyway, that’s my rant, sorry it’s so long but it’s easy to go on when you are involved in something so incredible!!
Cheers,
Sheyne
Hey Sheyne,
Thanks for tracking that down. I can see I was way off in the spelling of Opher’s name. I’m going to fix up the blog post right away.
I followed the link to Opher’s twitter account and then to his website but unfortunately for me his site is in Hebrew
I’m going to contact him and see if there’s an English version of what he was teaching.
The conference was awesome for sure. My next Guru Mastermind Summit in LA is August 22-23, barely more than a month from now. We’re planning a 3 week road trip to coincide with the summit.
Anyway, the next summit is the Customer Getting summit which will be pretty fantastic by all accounts I’ve heard from attendees of last years Customer Getting summit.
Cheers,
Todd
