Putting Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind to the Test

Ever wondered what a 25 million dollar a year information product business looks like? Eben Pagan is the guru to the guru’s when it comes to information products and today I’ve taken the plunge and decided to put his 1 year Guru Mastermind course to the test.
Now last year when he first launched this course he was charging about $10K for the 1 year course. This year he is offering 2 different versions of the course, one called the home study course which is much much cheaper and then the regular full on course which is also much cheaper this year.
If you’re very serious about building a real, full-time online income that far exceeds any paying job you will ever land in your lifetime then this might be the product for you. After all, there’s a reason all the top internet marketing gurus refer to him as their mentor and guru.
Check out the video here and you’ll quickly understand that Eben is not your typical all hype internet marketer, but rather a very professional product developer who knows how build an information business, and more importantly knows how to teach it to others.
Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind Course
I have to be honest here, I have never taken Eben’s course before and have just singed up for his full blown 1 year program to put it to the test. And yes, I will be reporting on it through this blog throughout the year.
Although I haven’t taken Eben’s course before, I can tell you that Eben has been responsible for much of the income I make every week simply as a result of what I learned from his free videos in his previous launch which I wrote about in a previous post called Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind Videos.
How so?
If you’ve been taking my free marketing course you know that one of my primary techniques is to create product specific bonuses for the affiliate products I market. Those product specific bonuses I talk about are essentially mini info products in their own right.
If the mini info product bonus you create is done right then it can often turn into a sellable product on it’s own. Here’s how I’ve been doing it …
You create a bonus mini eBook for a product you’re marketing as described in my course. The eBook, which can be as little as 15 pages, is targeted to helping people get more out of the product you’re marketing. Some of the people arriving at your site already have the product, but since your bonus eBook looks so good they wish they had bought the product from you.
Next thing you know people are asking if they can simply buy it from you. So you slap a small $29 price tag on it and then expand it a little to maybe 30 pages. Now all of a sudden you’re not only selling the original affiliate product, but for existing owners you’re now selling them a mini product like an add-on.
If it picks up steam you continue to expand the mini info product and up the price until you have a full fledged info product ready for clickbank.
The beauty of this model is that you don’t have to go crazy developing an info product until you’ve first tested the waters with a simple 15 page mini bonus. Only after you begin making affiliate sales and people ask to buy the guide do you then put the effort into turning it into a full on info product … and your affiliate sales you get from giving it away as a bonus in the beginning will actually fund your efforts to create the full on product.
That’s how you bootstrap yourself into an info product of your own and start making crazy big money.
I have followed the exact model I just described many times now. I have recently repeated this model just in the past 3 months with a new product which now makes about $350/day via paypal sales. I expect it to triple or more once I move the product to clickbank, which I’m in the process of doing now.
So how does Eben Pagan’s Guru Mastermind course fit into this?
Well it was Ebens previous free videos that inspired me to push the info product creation and the success his free material has brought me is precisely why I’ve decided to take the plunge and shell out the money for his 1 year course. I’m so confident that it will literally explode my online business that for me it’s a no brainer.
I already use Portal Feeder to drive all the traffic I could possible imagine to any web site I want, the only piece left in order to get from $1000 days to some serious uber guru money is creating top notch info products right?

I actually quit buying any IM stuff. I promised myself that I would figure out how to get traffic for free by following Grizzly before I spent another dime.
There’s not much IM stuff I buy these days either because most of it is crap. There are however some very excellent resources out there that are simply critical to growth.
I’m fully behind the idea of getting traffic for free and if you took my “free” course from this site you’ll see that I started completely free and built myself to some very decent, quite-your-job kind of money without spending any money (aside from a mailing list and wealthy affiliates).
However, once you are making some money it simply doesn’t make sense to not reinvest some of that money back into your business. If you’re trying to build a million dollar a year business you’ll never do it alone. You’ll need other resources because there is only so many hours in a day that one can spend commenting on blogs to get back links.
Eventually, when you have some money coming in, you need to either hire help, outsource or get tools that can multiply your efforts in order to really grow to the big time.
This is not unique to IM but common in all businesses. You have to reinvest to grow. Plain and simple.
The problem with IM is that there is so much crap out there that you have to know what to reinvest in and what to steer clear of.
